CBR could extend period of liquidity injections - Gref
MOSCOW. Feb 21 (Interfax) - The Central Bank of Russia (CBR) could extend the period of liquidity injections to one year, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sberbank German Gref said.
"We said that the period of liquidity injections from the CBR could be extended quite calmly," he told journalists on Tuesday.
The problem of a shortage in long-term liquidity is equally acute for all banks by virtue of the fact that standards are becoming tougher and because there is a gap in the periods of passive and active operations, Gref said.
Sberbank plans to discuss this problem with the authorities. "This is one of the tasks that we will resolve together with the government. I think that there should be a whole range of measures here, including the use of pension money," he said.
