Shymkent refinery output flat in 2011

SHYMKENT. Feb 28 (Interfax) - PetroKazakhstan Oil Products, (PKOP) a refinery in Shymkent, South Kazakhstan Region, refined 4.6 million tons of crude oil last year, about even with the 4.58 million tonnes it processed the year before, PetroKazakhstan Inc. saidin a press release.

According to the press release, last year PKOP's output of high-octane gasoline accounted for 63% of all gasoline produced by the refinery.

PetroKazakhstan Oil Products LLP is part of PetroKazakhstan group of companies.

PetroKazakhstan is a vertically integrated oil and gas group owned by China National Petroleum Corporation and National Company KazMunaiGas. PetroKazakhstan scope of business includes exploration, field development, oil and gas production, as well as the purchasing of fields, processing and selling of crude oil and refined products.

There are three refineries in Kazakhstan: Shymkent (south), Atyrau (west) and Pavlodar (north). They all are controlled by the national company KazMunayGas.
