Lietuvos energija group makes net profits of 21 mln litai in 2011
VILNIUS. Mar 1 (Interfax) - The Lithuanian energy group Lietuvos energija, which was reorganized last August with a merger involving the company Lietuvos energija and thermal energy and power producer Lietuvos elektrine, turned 21.067 million litai (around EUR 6 million) in consolidated net profits last year.
Profits were not consolidated in 2010, so a comparison is not valid, company materials point out.
As reported, the Lithuanian power grid operator Lietuvos energija generated 86.815 million litai in net profits in 2010, while combined heat and power plant Lietuvos elektrine made 5.476 million litai.
The report says the group's consolidated turnover last year amounted to 1.43 billion litai. Lietuvos energija's own revenue came to 1.367 billion litai, EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) to 53 million litai, and net profits to 10.756 million litai.
The group produced 2.018 billion kWt hours of electricity last year, 33% less than in 2010 (including Lietuvos elektrine).
The state-run enterprise Visagino atomine elektrine holds a 96.13% interest in Lietuvos energija charter capita.
The litas exchange rate is pegged to the euro at 3.4528 litai/EUR1.
