Ferrexpo ups pellet output 1.8% in Jan-Feb

KYIV. March 2 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Poltava Mining (PGOK), the core asset of the London-listed Ferrexpo plc, raised commercial pellet production 1.8% year-on-year in January-February to 1.548 million tonnes.

Concentrate production rose 3.3% to 1.864 million tonnes, an industry source told Interfax.

February output was 750,000 tonnes of pellets and 880,000 tonnes of concentrate.

PGOK reduced pellet output 2% to 9.834 million tonnes but raised concentrate output 1.9% to 11.442 million tonnes in 2011.

Poltava Mining exports nearly all of its pellets.
