Gas output in Azerbaijan up 11% in Jan-Feb

BAKU. March 11 (Interfax) - There was 4.547 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas produced in Azerbaijan in January-February, 10.8% more year-on-year, and 2.130 bcm of gas just in February, State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) told Interfax.

SOCAR itself produced 1.157 bcm (up 1.9%) over the two months, representing 25.4% of total production for the period (553.887 million cubic meters just in February).

January-February oil production in the country amounted to 7.504 million tonnes, down 5.5% year-on-year. There was 557,780 tonnes extracted in February, a SOCAR source said.

SOCAR accounted for 18.2% of January-February oil production, or for 1,367,580 tonnes (down 0.3% year-on-year), and for 660,942 tonnes last month.
