NOVATEK's board to confirm agenda for AGM on March 19

MOSCOW. March 13 (Interfax) - NOVATEK's board of directors, at a meeting slated for March 19, will review preparations for the company's annual general meeting for shareholders, the company said in a statement on the board's decision dated March 12.

For instance, the board of directors will make a proposal to include the election of NOVATEK's CEO on the agenda. They will also suggest nominations for this post.

According to the company' charter, the CEO should be elected at the AGM for a period of five years and can be reelected for an unlimited amount of times. The company's current CEO is one of its main shareholders, Leonid Mikhelson, who has headed the company for two terms since 2002.

The board of directors will also review setting prices in agreement dated January 27, 2010 for gas supplied between NOVATEK and Gazprom (RTS:G AZP), as well as putting up this issue for the AGM.

Other issues in AGM preparations include recommendations for the 2011 dividend payout, preliminary approval of the annual financial report, and setting the date to close the register for taking part in the annual meeting.
