Ministries still have not received instructions on tax for dishonest privatization in the 90s - Nabiullina

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - The idea of a tax for dishonest privatization in the 1990s, which Prime Minister Vladimir Putin discussed with leading business figures several weeks ago prior to the presidential elections, is far from real-life implementation since the involved ministries and agencies still have not received any instructions to work on this issue, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina told journalists on Thursday.

"I haven't seen them [instructions on this proposal]," she said.

Her ministry told Interfax that it has not received any official instructions on this issue.

Putin came out with a proposal to "turn the page" on 1990s privatizations, which have traditionally been viewed by Russian society as illegitimate, at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RUIE) on February 9.

"Grigory Yavlinsky [Yabloko Party founder] and I have discussed this. Here, he is right and I agree with him. We need to bring this period to a close. Various options have been proposed.
