Gazprombank to give TGK-5 8 bln ruble loan for reconstruction of Kirov CHP-3

MOSCOW. March 15 (Interfax) - Gazprombank and generating company TGK-5 have signed a loan agreement to finance an investment project "reconstruction of Kirov CHP-3 with the application of a steam-gas unit". The loan's value comes to over 8 billion rubles, Gazprombank said in a statement.

According to the project, a steam-gas unit with 220 mWt in electricity capital will be built at the combined heat and power plant with all necessary systems for the operation of the power block. Installed heat capacity at the block will come to 136 gCal per hour.

Once the new unit is installed, Kirov CHP's capacity will increase from 149 mWt to 369 mWt. The project is energy efficient. After its completion, fuel costs for production per 1 kWt hour of electricity will decrease by over 30%.

The project has been included on the roster of generating facilities, the capacity of which will be sold according to supply agreements in accordance with a Russian government order. According to the signed agreement, TGK-5 is obliged to commission new capacity by July 1, 2014.

Gazprombank was third biggest bank in Russia by assets for 2011 according to the Interfax-100, compiled by the Interfax Center for Economic Analysis.
