Kazakhstan gas production up 3.8% in Jan-Feb
ASTANA. March 16 (Interfax) - Kazakhstan produced 6.917 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in the first two months of this year, 3.8% more than in January-February of last year.
That included 3.550 bcm of natural gas (up 8.3%).
Sources in the Kazakh government told Interfax that national oil and gas company KazMunayGas produced 182.892 million cubic meters of the 'blue fuel' (91.5% of the January-February 2011 level).
Outfits KazMunayGas is involved in produced 2.591 bcm of gas (96.3%), including the joint venture TengizChevroil - 2.221 bcm (95.1%).
Other Kazakh producers extracted 4.145 bcm of gas (109.8%), including Karachaganak Petroleum Operating (KPO) - 3.083 bcm (108.0%).
There was 3.358 bcm of gas produced in Kazakhstan just in February.
