DIXY Group revenue soars 91.9% to 22.1 bln rubles in Jan-Feb

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - DIXY Group , one of Russia's leading retailers, saw its consolidated revenue for January-February 2012 soar 91.9% year-on-year to 22.1 billion rubles, the company said in a press release.

The figure includes Victoria Group revenue from the acquisition date on June 15 of last year.

February revenue grew 96.4% to 11.3 billion rubles.

Revenue in dollars rose 85.4% in the two months to $719.1 million and 95.3% in February to $376.7 million.

Pro-forma revenue, including the Victoria chain, rose 21.3% in rubles in the two months (17.2% in dollars) and 24.8% in February (24.1% in dollars).

Neighborhood store revenue grew 21% in the two months to 17.5 billion rubles, including 35.3% to 13.5 billion rubles at Dixy stores, however it fell 11.1% to 3.9 billion rubles at Kvartal and Deshevo stores, which Dixy has acquired and is rebranding.

Supermarket revenue grew 19.2% in the two months to 2.9 billion rubles, including by 20.1% to 2.5 billion rubles at Victoria supermarkets and 13.8% to 398 million rubles at Minimart.

Megamart hypermarkets boosted sales 33.4% to 1.6 billion rubles.

Cash and carry stores (Cash) reduced revenue 10.4% year-on-year to 139 million rubles.

In February alone, revenue at neighborhood stores grew 24.8% year-on-year to 8.9 billion rubles on the back of 39.5% growth at Dixy stores to 6.9 billion rubles, while revenue at Kvartal and Deshevo stores fell 9% to 1.9 billion rubles.

Overall supermarket revenue rose 22.4% to 1.5 billion rubles, including 23.6% growth at Victoria supermarkets to 1.3 billion rubles and 14.9% at Minimart to 198.8 million rubles. Megamart hypermarket sales rose 35.2% to 793.9 million rubles and Cash store revenue fell, by 10.2% to 70.9 million rubles.

The Dixy group opened 24 stores in January-February. As of February 29, it had 1,137 in total, including 1,087 neighborhood stores, 31 supermarkets and 18 hypermarkets.
