Kyiv-proposed 3+1 cooperation pattern with Customs Union doesn't suit Moscow - Ukraine's first deputy PM

MOSCOW. March 19 (Interfax) - Russia does not like the Kyiv-proposed 3+1 formula of cooperation with the Customs Union, said Ukraine's First Deputy Prime Minister Valeriy Khoroshkovskiy.

In the absence of an in-depth analysis we assume [the 3+1 formula of cooperation with the Customs Union does not suit Russia]," he said at a press briefing in Moscow on Monday in answer to a question from Interfax.

"At a meeting of the Interstate Council of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEc) the Ukrainian delegation led by President Viktor Yanukovych again proposed the 3+1 formula" which has not gone through a serious public discussion for now," he said.

"We think, however, that this idea has the right to exist and we are ready to hold talks within the 3+1 framework," Khoroshkovskiy said.

Ukraine, as a country outside the Customs Union "will suffer from the economic point of view, since these markets will be protected," he said.
