Azerbaijan reduces gas exports 0.1% in Jan-Feb
BAKU. March 20 (Interfax) - Azerbaijan exported 1.429 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in January-February 2012, or 0.1% less year-on-year, the State Customs Committee said.
Gas exports executed under simplified customs declarations totaled 456.239 million cu m worth $112.282 million in the two months.
Azerbaijani gas is currently exported by the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) to Russia, Iran and Georgia, and by the Shah Deniz consortium through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline to Georgia and Turkey.
Last year, Azerbaijan exported 7.092 bcm of gas. The Azerbaijani government forecasts that the country will produce 28.28 bcm of gas this year.
