Russian stock market opens with gains, MICEX and RTS up 0.3%
MOSCOW. March 21 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market opened trading with blue chips on Wednesday with gains as part of an upward correction following two days of active loses. The MICEX and RTS main indexes increased 0.3% in the first minute of trades.
By 10:01 am Moscow time, the MICEX had increased 0.3% to 1,562.88 points while the RTS Index had gone up 0.3% to 1,698.73 points. Benchmark stocks on the MICEX-RTS index went up with in 1%.
Advancers at the start of trades were VTB , up 0.6%, Gazprom - 0.4%, Gazprom Neft - 0.1%, Lukoil - 0.1%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - 0.04%, Polyus Gold - 0.6%, Rosneft - 0.5%, Sberbank - 0.2%, Surgutneftegas -0.7%, Tatneft - 0.9%, and Federal Grid Company UES - 0.5%.
