Putin pre-election proposals could add 0.4%-0.9% to GDP in 3 yrs - minister
MOSCOW. March 22 (Interfax) - The proposals that Vladimir Putin set down in articles in the run-up to the elections could add 0.4%-0.9% to GDP in the next three years, Economic Development Minister Elvira Nabiullina said at a meeting devoted to the implementation of those proposals.
"We estimate that these proposals and additional measures to stimulate economic growth could generate an extra 0.4%-0.9% of GDP in the next three years," Nabiullina said.
The additional effect could be greater than in the conservative socioeconomic forecast scenario in the years that follow, she said.
Additional GDP of 660 billion-770 billion rubles could be generated in 2013. "A third of this would enter the budget system, in other words there'll be additional tax. This is at least 200 billion rubles, which we will receive from economic growth," Nabiullina said.
This will help achieve many tasks and honor additional budget commitments. Additional money will stay in the hands of businesses and households.
Nabiullina also suggested that the proposals set down in Putin's articles such as creating 25 million new jobs, raising competitiveness and so on be taken into account when economic development scenarios, socioeconomic prognoses and the budget are being formed.
