CEO appointed to new Russian subsidiary of SAP AG

Moscow. March 26 (Interfax) - SAP Labs CIS (SAP in Skolkovo), a new subsidiary of Germany's SAP AG, has appointed Dmitry Armyakov, former corporate client services department director at Kaspersky Lab, its CEO, SAP said in a press release.

Armyakov will be responsible for the laboratory's strategic and tactical objectives, for providing the necessary support to growth plans and expanding the position of SAP CIS on the Russian market in the next few years, the release says.

SAP began setting up SAP Skolkovo at the end of 2011 and the lab was registered as a separate legal entity at the start of 2012 and hiring began. The company hopes that SAP Lab will have around 70 employees by the end of 2012 and 250 by 2015.

"The launch of SAP Labs in Skolkovo is one of the most important events in 2011," SAP CIS General Director Igor Bogachev said. "Dozens and even hundreds of new jobs will be created at the innovation laboratory and that is why we chose Dmitry Armyakov to head the company as his experience at SAP CIS [before joining Kaspersky Lab, Armyakov worked at SAP CIS for 11 years] is indispensable for realization of the targets set," he said.

SAP Labs CIS will work on four key areas: business intelligence and mobile solutions, technological support for start-ups, working with foreign participants of Skolkovo (including Microsoft, Cisco, Intel and others) and localization of existing SAP products and development of new products. SAP plans to invest $45 million in this division by 2015.

SAP has worked in Russian since 1992. It has offices in Moscow, Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Rostov-on-the-Don.

SAP AG consolidated revenue to International Financial Reporting Standards was 14.23 billion euros in 2011, up 14% on 2010.
