Dollar opens Friday trade with significant losses, euro edges up
MOSCOW. March 30 (Interfax) - The dollar saw significant losses during the first minutes of Friday trade on the MICEX following growth in the euro, while the ruble was up against the bi-currency basket on the back of stock market growth.
On Friday morning, the dollar was at 29.23-29.4 rubles/$1, down 19 kopecks over yesterday's closing value and roughly in line with the current official exchange rate.
Meanwhile, the euro edged up by 3 kopecks over yesterday's value to 39.15 rubles/EUR1, but was 11 kopecks above the official exchange rate.
The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) stood at 33.73 rubles in the morning, 9 kopecks below yesterday's closing level.
