Decisions on Caspian Sea that ignore Caspian countries' opinion unacceptable - Lavrov

YEREVAN. April 2 (Interfax) - Decisions on the Caspian Sea, which do not take into account the opinions of the five littoral states, are unacceptable, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.

"Decisions that fail to take into account the opinions of all Caspian states on how to manage the Caspian Sea, let alone in cooperation with the European Union located far from the Caspian region, are unacceptable," he said in his speech in the Yerevan State University, commenting on the desire of the Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and the EU to build a trans-Caspian gas pipeline without heeding the other Caspian countries' opinions.
