Dollar and euro post steady losses against ruble on MICEX as stock markets gain
MOSCOW. April 2 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro posted steady losses on the MICEX on Monday against the Russian ruble. The value of the Central Bank's bi-currency basket ($0.55 and 0.45 euro) fell by 12 kopecks to 33.73 rubles thanks to the stock market's gains.
The dollar went down eight kopecks to close 29.36 rubles/$1 on the MICEX while the Euro declined by 16.49 kopecks to finish at 39.07 rubles/EUR1.
The dollar's average weighted exchange rate on MICEX went up 1.76 kopecks to 29.3621 rubles/$1 in Today deals and 1.2 kopecks to 29.3928 rubles/$1 in Tomorrow deals. Combined dollar trading on MICEX amounted to $6.0027 billion; of which $1.3329 billion were Today deals and $4.6699 billion were Tomorrow deals.
The euro's average weighted rate went up 2.71 kopecks to 39.1951 rubles/EUR1 in Today deals and went down 1.36 kopecks to 39.2039 rubles/EUR1 in Tomorrow deals. Combined euro trading amounted to 486.604 million euro, of which 195.9 million euro were Today deals and 290.704 million euro were Tomorrow deals.
The overnight rate went down 22 basis points to 5.77%.
