No reason for capital outflow to continue in Russia - banker

MOSCOW. April 5 (Interfax) - There are no objective reasons for capital to continue to flow out of Russia, indeed the trend could be reversed in the second quarter and capital could start flowing into the country, Sberbank Deputy CEO Bella Zlatkis told reporters.

"We don't see this trend this year, in fact the opposite, there are some tendencies towards inflow," Zlatkis said.

"There are no arguments for capital outflow to increase or for a negative tendency in this respect," she said.

"I think Russia will be very attractive, that there will be a positive tendency in the second quarter," she said.

Regarding the recent successful placements of sovereign Eurobonds and then corporate Eurobonds, Zlatkis said this was confirmation of high interest in Russia and that she hoped that interest would be maintained.

Capital outflow continued in Q1 2012 and the CB has estimated this at $35.1 billion. Capital outflow totaled $80.5 billion in 2011.
