SOCAR exports via Baku-Supsa pipeline up 12.6% in Q1
BAKU. April 5 (Interfax) - State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) exported 888,593 tonnes of Azerbaijani oil through the Baku-Supsa pipeline in the first three months of this year, a 12.6% year-on-year increase, SOCAR told Interfax.
SOCAR pumped 411,849 tonnes of oil via the pipeline last month.
The Baku-Supsa pipeline transported 2.65 million tonnes of oil in 2011.
The oil pipeline was put into operation April 17, 1999. It runs for 837 kilometers, is 530 millimeters in diameter, and has throughput capacity of an annual 7.5 million tonnes. It was built in the framework of the contract for the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli deposits.
