Belgorod's Belnafta to commission 2bln ruble center for processing oil wastes by 2015

BELGOROD. April 10 (Interfax) - LLC Belnafta, based in the Belgorod region, plans to open a innovative center for the processing and utilization of oil wastes in the region worth 2 billion rubles by the end of 2014, OJSC Development Corporation (one of the project developers) told Interfax.

The first stage in the center's development is the installation of trail unit for processing oil wastes using cracking technology. This unit should be launched at the end of April 2012. Experimental equipment for cleaning polluted water, turning natural gas into liquid fuel, extracting synthetic oil from microalgae and biodiesel from vegetable oils will be gradually set up at the enterprise by the end of 2014.

The value of the project is estimated at 2 billion rubles, including 1 billion rubles for processing oil wasters, 450 million rubles for water-cleaning technologies, 350 million rubles for processing natural gas, 120 million rubles for extracting biodiesel, and 80 million rubles for producing synthetic oil.

Belnafta is engaged in the implementation of environmental projects for the processing oil wastes in the Belgorod region.

OJSC Development Corporation (in which the Belgorod Region owns 100%) was founded in May 2011 for supporting investment projects in the region.
