Rosneft only now choosing contractor for building refinery in Chechnya
MOSCOW. April 10 (Interfax) - Russian oil company Rosneft is only now getting to the selection of a general contractor for the building of a oil refinery in Chechnya with one-million-tonne processing capacity.
Company materials indicate that as Rosneft works on the project will be accepting applications from general contracting organizations for accreditation to provide the full spectrum of construction work on the refinery until May 14.
Chechen administration chief Ramzan Kadyrov said in April of last year that construction was slated to begin in mid-2011 and commissioning in 2014, with testing operations to be conducted in 2013. The project price tag is estimated at 17 billion rubles. Kadyrov said at the beginning of this year that Rosneft was not living up to its obligations as regards building the oil refinery in the republic.
