South Stream shareholders to elect Henning Voscherau as chairman
MOSCOW. April 13 (Interfax) - Shareholders of South Stream Transport AG elected a new board of directors at a meeting on April 13, Gazprom said.
German politician Henning Voscherau was made chairman of the board.
The board also includes Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller, Gazprom Deputy CEO Alexander Medvedev, Eni CEO Paulo Scaroni, EDF chief Henri Proglio and BASF executive board member Harald Schwager.
The board discussed key issues of cooperation between South Stream shareholders, including the budget and plan of action needed to pass the final investment decision in November this year.
The South Stream gas pipeline, with capacity to carry up to 63 billion cubic meters, will run along the Black Sea bed and is being built to supply Russian gas to Europe, bypassing Ukraine. Partners in constructing the offshore section of the pipeline include Gazprom (50%), Italy's Eni (20%), Germany's Wintershall (15%) and France's EDF (15%).
