IDGC Urals increases commercial electricity output 3% in 2011
YEKATERINBURG. April 16 (Interfax) - Grid company OJSC IDGC Urals increased commercial production of electricity 2.8% to 71.577 billion kilowatt hours in 2011, the company said in a statement.
IDGC Urals' total electricity production for its grid reached 77.756 billion kilowatt hours in 2011, up 2.4%.
The statement said: "The increase in comparison with the same period of 2010 was driven by a significant increase in electricity consumption by major industrial enterprises and metallurgical plants, which, therefore, caused an increase in commercial electricity output from OJSC IDGC Ural's grid."
The company's electricity losses for 2011 came to 6.179 billion kilowatt hours (down 0.4%).
IDGC Urals' loan portfolio for 2011 came to 6.0645 billion rubles, up 9.4%. For instance, the share of short-term loans and borrowing in the portfolio came to 219,000 rubles and long-term loans and borrowing - 6.0309 billion rubles (up 8.9%).
The company's net debt for 2011 increased by 22.4% to 5.342 billion rubles.
IDGC Urals was created through the merger of regional distribution companies - Sverdlovenergo, Chelyabenergo and Permenergo, which operate as regional branches.
The company is responsible for over 150,000 kilometers in cable and overhead electricity transmission lines, 36,300 substations with over 52,000 MBA in capacity.
