Russian stock market opens with gains, MICEX and RTS up 0.01%-0.1%
MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - The Russian stock market opened trading on Tuesday with gains as the MICEX and RTS indexes went up by 0.01%-0.1% as part of a correction after Monday's losses. Quotations on blue chips varied.
By 10:01 am Moscow time, the MICEX had increased by 0.01% to 1,477.92 points while the RTS Index went up by 0.1% to 1,588.91 points. Ruble-based benchmark stocks on the MICEX-RTS changed within 1%.
Decliners were Gazprom Neft , down 0.4%, Lukoil - 0.2%, MMC Norilsk Nickel - 0.2%, Polyus Gold - 0.6%, Sberbank Russia - 0.1%, Surgutneftegas - 0.1%, Tatneft - 0.6%, and Federal Grid Company UES - 0.5%.
Advancers included VTB , up 0.3%, Gazprom - 0.1%, NOVATEK - 0.4%, Rosneft - 0.7%, and Rostelecom - 0.2%.
