Twenty percent of Ukrainian Cheese exports to Russia have yet to be negotiated - Kyiv
KYIV. April 18 (Interfax) - Ukraine's Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said cheese exports to Russia would hopefully resume soon.
"I hope the work done to amend the situation will lead to a resumption of Ukrainian cheese exports to the Russian market," he told the media in Kyiv on Wednesday.
He welcomed Russia's decision to restart Ukrainian cheese imports after inspecting three Ukrainian cheese producers.
"Three companies have been inspected, and these three account for 80% of our exports to Russia. Russia will issue a positive signal if it reopens its market for us. I hope this will be done in the near future," he said.
Ukraine's Economic Development and Trade Minster Petro Poroshenko said on Tuesday that the so-called cheese war between Russia and Ukraine was over and that Ukrainian cheese exports to Russia would help reduce bilateral trade deficit, earlier reports said.
