Delegation of U.S. automakers heads to Russia
MOSCOW. April 23 (Interfax) - United States Under Secretary of Commerce Michelle O'Neill will visit Russia on April 23-27 as head of a delegation of U.S. car component producers.
Representatives of 13 U.S. companies producing engines, electric and electronic components, interior fixtures, exhaust systems, air conditions, air bags and other components will visit Moscow, Samara and St. Petersburg to look for potential business partners in Russia, the press service of the U.S. embassy in Moscow reported earlier.
Russia is Europe's fastest-developing car market and an important partner offering big opportunities, O'Neil was quoted as saying.
In 2010, car sales in Russia grew 30% and are expected to rise 15% annually until 2015.
Russian and foreign producers of car components are stepping up production to meet demand for quality cars, which creates promising opportunities for U.S. producers of car components and spare parts, the embassy said.
