Medvedev ready to head United Russia, become its member

MOSCOW. April 26 (Interfax) - President Dmitry Medvedev says he is ready to head United Russia and to become its member.

"If the proposal to head the party is made, and the acting [party] chairman has made it, I will not reject this offer," he told Russian television live on Thursday.

"Any party leader must be a part of it," he said.
