Lukoil could sustain, edge oil output up in 2012

MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Lukoil plans to sustain or edge oil production up in 2012 compared with 2011, the company's president, Vagit Alekperov, told reporters.

Lukoil produced 90.7 million tonnes of oil last year.

Alekperov said the company managed to stabilize production in West Siberia.

"We raised production in West Siberia in April - not by much but we raised it. We're confident the action we are taking will bring success in the form of stabilizing production. Oil production this year will be level with or a little higher than last year," he said.

Alekperov also said that Lukoil plans to produce around 70 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas over ten years, including 22-24 bcm outside Russia and 50 bcm inside the country. The company has a deal with Gazprom , he said. "We are certain that Gazprom will acquire all our gas," he said.
