UTair flies 68% more passengers in Q1

MOSCOW. April 27 (Interfax) - Utair Airlines flew 68.3% more passengers in January-March 2012 than the same period of 2011 at 1.6 million, Federal Air Transport Agency Rosaviatsia reported.

Passenger turnover jumped 74.6% to 3.13 billion passenger-kilometers.

Seat occupancy increased 1.4 percentage points to 70%.

The company forwarded 6,146 tonnes of cargo and post, 55% more than the first quarter of 2011. Carto turnover climbed 50% to 12.7 million tonnes per kilometer.

The UTair Group includes UTair Airlines, UTair Express, UTair Ukraine, UTair Cargo, Turukhan Airlines, Nefteyugansk, Vostok, Helisur (Peru), UTair Europe (Slovakia), UTair South Africa and UTair India.

UTair flew 6.7 million passengers in 2011.
