State companies may have to seek govt consent to private assets' acquisition

GORKI. April 27 (Interfax) - The Russian president has directed the government to submit proposals on a mechanism requiring a Cabinet consent to acquisition by state companies of private assets.

"The government has been directed to submit proposals on the introduction of a mechanism requiring its consent to acquisition by state-controlled organizations of private assets," Russian Presidential Aide Arkady Dvorkovich told reporters.

The government has also been directed "to issue instructions to its representatives on boards of directors at joint-stock companies to start preparing programs to sell non-core assets and to work out the matter of selling core assets on competitive markets," the presidential aide said.
