ArcelorMittal Temirtau re-commissions blast furnace after $109-mln upgrade

ALMATY. May 5 (Interfax) - ArcelorMittal Temirtau has re-commissioned its No. 2 blast furnace following an upgrade costing $109 million, the company said.

The upgrade was launched in late 2009. The production capacity of the furnace is 1.3 million tonnes of pig iron a year.

ArcelorMittal Temirtau also owns eight coalmines in the Karaganda region and four iron ore mines in the Karaganda, Akmola and Kostanai regions.
