Russia to raise state spending on R&D to 1.77% of GDP by 2015

MOSCOW. May 7 (Interfax) - President Vladimir Putin ordered on Monday that state financing of research and development go up to 25 billion rubles by 2018 and rise to 1.77% of gross domestic product by 2015.

The order is part of a decree that is entitled "On Measures to Implement State Policy on Education and Science" and that also sets the target of raising to 2.44% the proportion of Russian publications in international scientific journals mentioned in the Web of Science database.
