Establishment of SCO Energy Club enters 'final straight' - Lavrov
BEIJING. May 11 (Interfax) - The process of establishing the Energy Club of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is almost over, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"The creation of the Energy Club as an open informal platform for dialogue on key issues surrounding cooperation in this field has entered the final straight thanks to the efforts made by the energy agencies of our countries," Lavrov said at a meeting with his counterparts from SCO member states in Beijing on Friday.
"The interest in the Energy Club is great, including on the part of observer-states and dialogue partners. We hope that Uzbek partners will join this project," he said.
