Kuzbass coal output up 2.7% in 4M

KEMEROVO. May 11 (Interfax) - Russia's coal-rich Kuznetsk basin (Kuzbass, Kemerovo region) raised coal production 2.7% year-on-year in January-April to 61.7 million tonnes, the regional administration said.

This included 16.4 million tonnes of coking coal.

Production rose at OJSC SDS Coal, Kuzbass Fuel Company and ZAO Stroyservice.

April output rose 1.9% year-on-year to 15.9 million tonnes.

Coal shipments came to 63.2 million tonnes in the 4M, including exports - 29.6 million tonnes.

Coal inventory was 11.1 million tonnes as of April.
