Medvedev arrives in St. Pete to take part in International Legal Forum
ST. PETERSBURG. May 17 (Interfax) - Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev arrived in St. Petersburg on Thursday to take part in the plenary session of the International Legal Forum, the key subject of which is 'Legal Policy in the 21st Century: New Challenges for Law in a Global Context'.
The St. Petersburg International Legal Forum is described by its organizers as the first international forum for discussing the most important legal issues related to global socioeconomic problems facing various countries.
The plenary session is supposed to deal with global problems of the development of contemporary international law. Participants in roundtable discussions will address, in particular, aspects of the rule of law, specifics of trading in and protection of cultural valuables, new formats of global economic integration within the framework of APEC, BRICS, and EurAsEC, and other important issues.
The first St. Petersburg International Legal Forum was held in May 2011 and was attended by more than 700 participants from 35 countries.
