Sergei Generalov to chair FESCO's board of directors

MOSCOW. May 22. (Interfax) - The board of directors of OJSC Far Eastern Shipping Company (FESCO, the flagship company of FESCO Transportation Group) elected Sergei Generalov (the group's majority shareholder) to be its chairman on May 21, the company said in a statement.

Kirill Rubinsky previously chaired the board.

In April, Generalov resigned as FESCO's president ahead of schedule and was replaced by Yuri Gilts, who was previously the group's vice president and CFO.

In addition, the board of directors terminated the powers of management board member Dmitry Firkalo ahead of schedule on May 22. As a result, FESCO's management board will have six members instead of seven: Gilts, Alexei Grom, Nikolai Ermoshkin, Vladimir Korchanov, Sergei Kostyan and Dmitry Shokhin.

FESCO Transportation Group is an intermodal operator that combines sea, railway and automobile transportation, and stevedore services at its own terminals at ports in Russia and other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. The group's fleet includes 50 vessels with a combined deadweight of 900,000 tonnes, as well as 19,000 freight cars.
