Deputy chief of VNIIGAZ now heads Gazprom's project dept

MOSCOW. May 23 (Interfax) - Andrei Skrepnyuk, the deputy head of Gazprom VNIIGAZ, has been made the head of Gazprom's new project works department, the company said on Wednesday.

The project department, along with the company's department for prospective development, was formed based on the strategic development department at the end of 2011.

Born in 1964 in Leningrad, Skrepnyuk graduated the Leningrad Polytechnic Institute with specialization in pipeline construction in 1989. He started working in 1986. From 1986 to 1989, he worked as repairman at the Avrora test plant and a specialist in pilot production at TsNII NPO Avrora. Between 1989 and 1993, he was lead engineer at the bureau of head engineers and head engineers at the Giprospetsgaz project institute of NPO Gidrotruboprovod. From 1993 to 1997, Skrepnyuk was an engineer for the gas compression service of the Priozerny production directorate for Tyumentransgaz's gas pipelines. From 1997 to 2001, he was head engineer at the project bureau of head engineers and deputy technical director at Giprospetsgaz. Between 2001 and 2006, he was head engineer and first deputy general director at OJSC Giprotruboprovod. From 2006 to 2012, he had been working as the deputy general director for sciences at LLC Gazprom VNIIGAZ (formerly LLC VNIIGAZ).

The project department's main tasks include organization of preliminary research, design and exploration work, expertise and monitoring of construction of new production facilities, as well as the expansion, reconstruction and technical reequipping of facilities now in operation.

Gazprom's project department is part of the company's production division and is under the authority of deputy CEO Vitaly Markelov.
