MinFin allows possibility of gas NRET changes, but still looks to planned add'l budget revenues

MOSCOW. May 30 (Interfax) - The Russian Finance Ministry is allowing for the possibility of changes to the natural resource extraction tax (NRET) rate on gas in 2013-2015, but is looking to maintain the planned volume of additional budget revenues.

"I'm not prepared to say what will change, but theoretically it's possible. But I am counting on the volume of additional revenues to the budget being maintained. I think that the amount fixed in the form of additional revenues, and correspondingly these 80%, will not likely be reconsidered, and the ability to achieve these aims could to a large degree be changed. I see here a certain variability," State Secretary and Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov told reporters.
