Mozyr Oil Refinery ups oil processing 23% in Q1

MINSK. May 30 (Interfax) - OJSC Mozyr Oil Refinery in Belarus' Gomel region processed 2.88 million tonnes of oil in the first quarter of 2012, or 23.1% more year-on-year, OJSC Slavneft, which owns 42.58% of the Belarusian enterprise's shares, said in a statement.

"The significant growth in refining volume at Mozyr Oil Refinery in the first quarter of 2012 was driven by an increase in deliveries of raw hydrocarbons from Russia to the enterprise," the statement says.

The refinery produced 690,000 tonnes of automotive gasoline (19.6% more year-on-year) and 970,000 tonnes of diesel fuel (74.9% more).

Slavneft processed 6.57 million tonnes of oil at its own facilities in all in Q1, 13% more year-on-year.

The government of Belarus is the other main shareholder in the refinery, with a 42.76% stake. Slavneft is controlled on a parity basis by Gazprom Neft and TNK-BP . Another 12.25% of the stock is held by OJSC MNPZ+, which belongs to the government, and private investors hold 2.41% of shares. The refinery can process around 11 million tonnes of oil per year, factoring in secondary processes, and refining depth is around 70%.

Mozyr Oil Refinery processed 10.4 million tonnes of oil last year versus 10 million tonnes in 2010. It has not yet determined its final primary refining plans for 2012.
