Dollar and euro continue to gain on MICEX on Thurs

MOSCOW. May 31 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro are continuing to gain on the MICEX on Thursday as the Russian ruble intensifies its slide against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at 0.45 euro and $0.55) driven by declining oil prices and uncertainty on global markets.

The dollar increased to 33.14 rubles/$1 on the MICEX by 3:00 pm Moscow time, up 38 kopecks from Wednesday's close. The euro increased 52 kopecks to reach 41.11 rubles/EUR1. The bi-currency basket then had climbed 44 kopecks since the start of trading to 36.73 rubles.
