Man arrested in Moscow on suspicion of raping under-age girls - spokesman
MOSCOW. June 2 (Interfax) - A man who raped under-age girls was arrested in Moscow on Friday night, the Russian Investigative Committee said on Saturday.
Sergei Bersenev raped his victims in apartment block stairwells. Investigators have obtained conclusive evidence of four such assaults, Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Interfax. The four girls had identified him, the spokesman said.
"During an interrogation, Bersenev explained that his crimes were the effect of powerful drugs for headaches that he had been suffering from because of practicing his boxing sport," Markin said.
