Siluanov not expecting major fluctuations in ruble rate
MOSCOW. June 5 (Interfax) - Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov is not expecting such ruble rate fluctuations as have been observed over the past few days.
"Such swinging in the rate fluctuations as has been seen over the past few days most likely will not continue," he said on the Ekho Moskvy radio on Tuesday.
The ruble is likely to remain stable in the near future, he said. "I think this sort of level will remain in the near future. But what will happen in one, two or three months is hard to predict. The Central Bank will not allow serious fluctuations," the minister said.
