Medvedev to discuss consequences of Russia's WTO membership with Belarus, Kazakh PMs
GORKI. June 6 (Interfax) - Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev wants to discuss with his Belarusian and Kazakh counterparts economic cooperation after Russia becomes a World Trade Organization member, as well as the new integration system within the Customs Union.
Medvedev made this statement in talks with experts on Russia's economic development in conditions of its accession to the WTO.
Russian Milk Company Board of Directors member Andrei Danilenko complained that Russian producers of dairy products are at a disadvantage in competition with Belarusian producers. "Better systematized work needs to be done within the Customs Union. In fact, we are competing with the state machine which is not playing by market rules, not with Belarusian companies," he said.
Medvedev said he supports Russian milk producers' efforts to form an integration system with clearly-worded market terms within the Customs Union.
"I will meet with my Belarusian and Kazakh colleagues in St. Petersburg in a week and we will discuss the current situation, given Russia's accession to the WTO," Medvedev said.
