Dollar posts minor losses on MICEX, euro gains
MOSCOW. June 9 (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar declined slightly on the MICEX during trading on Saturday as the euro posted major gains owing to its increase on world markets on Friday evening. The Russian ruble edged down against the Central Bank's bi-currency basket (set at $0.55 and 0.45 euro) as ruble liquidity expands.
By 3:00 pm Moscow time, the dollar came to 32.63 rubles on the MICEX, down 3.5 kopecks from its close on Friday. The euro then came to 40.93 rubles/EUR1, up 21.75 kopecks so far for the day. The bi-currency basket increased eight kopecks to 36.365 rubles.
