Two get "light injuries" at Russian fire-stricken rocket depot - official

NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Russia. June 11 (Interfax) - Two persons received "light injuries" as an artillery rocket depot in Russia's Orenburg region went ablaze on Monday, an assistant to the regional governor said.

"They have been taken to the hospital with light injuries," Igor Dmitrachkov told Interfax, citing unconfirmed information that both were military servicemen.

Dmitrachkov said people were not being evacuated from nearby villages yet because, he said, the village that is closest to the depot is 14 kilometers away.

Earlier, a Russian Emergency Situations Ministry spokesman told Interfax that explosions at the depot were throwing around splinters within a radius of 4 kilometers.
