People leaving opposition rally venue in central Moscow

MOSCOW. June 12 (Interfax) - People have already started to leave the venue of the opposition's rally on Academician Sakharov Avenue in central Moscow.

They are moving toward the Chistye Prudy subway station, an Interfax correspondent has reported.

The rally continues.

A Just Russia parliamentarian Gennady Gudkov criticized the country's new law on rallies.

"We have a right to gather freely and tell the authorities what we find necessary," he said.

Gudkov proposed replacing electoral bodies and calling re-elections.

"Changing the Election Commission and calling re-elections - these are our demands," he said.

The opposition could initiate nationwide acts of disobedience, Gudkov said.

"Until these demands are met, we will continue taking to the streets and putting forth these demands. If they start to take the street away from us, if they put us behind bars and order us to pay fines, we will launch acts of civil disobedience all over the country," he said.
