NRET for gas needs to be calculated on formula in 2014 - Dvorkovich
GAZOPROVOD, Moscow region. June 13. (Interfax) - The natural resources extraction tax (NRET) for gas needs to be calculated on a formula starting on January 1, 2014, Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich said following a governmental meeting dedicated to taxation in the oil and gas sector held at the central office of LLC Gazprom mezhregiongaz.
The NRET for independent gas producers could be lowered in 2013, and a formula for calculating the NRET could be established on January 1, 2014, he said.
After the meeting, Dvorkovich told journalists that a balanced NRET for gas that would account for external gas price dynamics should be established in 2013. "Such an estimate of the dynamic is still being worked out and will require several weeks," he said.
The possibility of gas exports for independent producers was not discussed at the meeting, he said.
