Miller confirms plans to sell Gazflot

GAZOPROVOD, Moscow region. June 13. (Interfax) - Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller has confirmed that the company is selling its 100% subsidiary Gazflot, which arranges offshore gas fields.

"Yes, we consider this to be a non-core service business. Gazprom shouldn't swim," he said.

"There are interested parties, first and foremost Russian investors. Offers will be discussed," he said.

Asked whether the "interested party" could be Rosneftegaz, Miller said, "Why not Rosneftegaz?"

Asked whether Arkady Rotenberg or his company Stroygazmontazh could be among the potential buyers, he said, "That's the first time I've heard of it. There aren't any offers from that company."

Several sources familiar with the situation have told Interfax that Gazprom has been looking for someone to buy Gazflot for two years.

Gazflot, founded in 1994, discovered the Kamenomysskoye, Severo Kamenomysskoye, Obskoye, Chugoryakhinskoye and Semakovskoye gas deposits at the time of its creation. The company operates at Gazprom's licensed sections on the West Kamchatka shelf, at Sakhalin-3, at the Priyamalsky shelf of the Karsk Sea, and others.
