Dollar, euro fall markedly against ruble on Wednesday

MOSCOW. June 13. (Interfax) - The U.S. dollar and euro experienced significant losses against the ruble on Wednesday amid an improving situation on global capital markets and growth in demand for ruble liquidity in anticipation of the tax period.

By the end of the day, the dollar stood at 32.45 rubles/$1 on the MICEX, down 21 kopecks over Friday. The euro finished Wednesday at 40.78 rubles/EUR1, down 24 kopecks over the previous level.

The bi-currency basket ($0.55 and EUR0.45) came to 36.2 rubles, down 22 kopecks.
